Wasting Water
Melbourne like most of Australia is on water alert as there is not much of it and it doesn't come around very often. People have buckets in their showers and then use the collected water to wash their dishes, polish their monitors, etc because we all have to pull together you know.
The other night on the street behind us a water pipe burst at 2:30 am, no doubt due to road maintenance that had been performed down that street in the day. A huge geyster spurted forth from under a parked car, spraying life juice everywhere. I watched for 5 minutes as the street started to submerge and a police officer tried to keep folk from driving through the spray. One car drove straight at the cop and he thumped their bonnet as they got past him and away to safety. Then the cop went back to his car to have a cry.

The water was still pumping strong as the juice dripped from the cops chin 20 minutes later so I took a few pics and went home. In the time I was there I'm sure 1000's of litres of water were wasted and there was no sign of it stopping.
By morning all the evidence was gone.

The Beach
The St Kilda beach is pretty swell. I can't wait to go swimming after work when it gets a bit warmer.
I Am Choice You Know
Every morning come rain, hail or shine I bike down the St Kilda Pier to this sweet little cafe sitting out in the middle of the ocean. The lovely girls there make me a mocca for my trouble and I sit and read while I'm supposed to be working. Ha! Ha! I am mighty indeed! There are all manner of sugary delicacies at this cafe. I havn't tried any yet but I will, oh yes I will.
Terrorist Alert
I was taking photos of the old Victoria Barracks for an article on my way home from a morning's labour. A few seconds after taking this pic, two security guards starting striding vigilantly toward me so I hightailed on out of there on my mega-ten speed.

Midnight Juggernauts
Went to Bloc Party show last night, they were decent but sorta kinda boring. Opening Aussie band Midnight Juggernauts were sweet though, wicked dynamics and some real sweet pop songs. There sure were a lot of berks at the show though. Including two kiwis we met on they way there that were downright embarassing. Oh well.
The Dears
Listening to a fair bit of the Dears second album, Gang of Losers, its a keeper. Love this song in particular.
