Launch Party for New Comic

Big thanks to my pal Puny Weakling (he's actually not that puny folks) for sprucing my site and for putting up with my womanly nagging. Ooh! Sorry feminists.

Big news for me is I have a little comic book coming out soon with the emo-esque title
'Everything Ends In Tears'. Not really that dramatic folks, But It aptly describes most of what I've been writing recently. The comic collects a bunch of web strips and some previously unpublished longer pieces.

Check out the Auckland launch party poster here and come along for baked treats, delightful beverages and sweet sweet music.

Nice Work

I don't care what the Fawkner Police think, I believe I have a positive influence on the youth of today.

Megaheroes

Upcoming Megaheroes show at The High Seas in Auckland Friday 9th Oct. Megaheroes is a duo I'm in with Ryan , unfortunately we don't play very often cause I moved to a different country. When I left New Zealand I sent him a self help list of things to help him 'be less of a failure at life'. He replied with a list for me, 'How to be less of a fag'. Touche mister.

One of the funniest things ever was after a show in Wellington we were sharing a room with MC Stormtroopa who was sleeping in the corner. Ryan grabbed a marker pen and drew an amazing portrait of Spongebob Squarepants on MC Stormtroopa's naked back. Rendering Spongebob with brilliant speed and accuracy he then added the cherry, a great big dick descending towards Spongebob's eager face. As the last lines swirled into place MC Stormtroopa woke up and we ran outside giggling.

Guzumocast #2

A light frothy mix of pop confectionary, one hit wonders and remix goodness.

1. The Superman Lovers - Starlight
2. Sugababes - Overload
3. Sneaker Pimps - Spin Spin Sugar
4. Paula Abdul - Straight Up
5. SJD - Tree People
6. Luscious Jackson - Ladyfingers

Loved Sugababes from the moment I heard them. Their albums have a fair amount of tosh on them but they have managed to produce a decent amount of hit singles over the years for a manufactured group of sorts. Some folks don't listen to girl bands/boy bands on principal of their manufacturedness, but they're missing out, if its a good song that you like who cares who performs it?

I first heard the Sneaker Pimps remix in some chill-out zone at an outdoor rave in Napier sometime last century. Altered states may have been involved but it really resonated with me at the time.

Paula Abdul was all the rage at parties when I was a young fulla. Heh, that was a while ago...Where are my Boyz 2 Men tapes?

Starlight by the Superman Lovers is the perfect French House tune. That is all that needs to be said.
